CHRONOGRAPHY
CHRONOGRAPHY
Chronographie starts with a seemingly simple idea: Dominique Goblet suggests to her daughter Nikita Fossoul that they each draw a portrait of the other.
After this first session, the mother proposes to her daughter that they repeat the exercise regularly for ten years. The two artists kept their promise: Nikita was 7 years old when the experiment began in 1998, and 17 when the project ended. Her evolution can be seen not only through the portraits her mother drew of her, but also in the changes in her own drawing style. The result is unlike anything known. It seems far from comics, and yet it is so close, because how better to narrate ten years of life than with such an experience?
